Ann Moore

Ann Moore was an American nurse, born in 1934. She trained in paediatrics and was one of the first volunteers of the Peace Corps serving in Togo in the 1960s. While in Africa, she was intrigued by the way African mothers carried their babies fastened to their backs in cloth slings. The babies were calm because they were safe and very close to their mothers. When she returned to the United States, she began to work with her mother on developing a baby backpack carrier that she would patent and market later on. Thanks to her invention mothers and fathers the world over can carry their babies close to them.
